Success With Human Performance Made Easy

Have you ever dreamed of becoming a better person?  How about having a better life?  If you’re like me I bet you have.  The good news is it’s easier than you think to make things better.

It all comes down to your performance.  Everything we do in our lives is a performance.  Whether it’s in front of a large crowd or an audience of one, it’s still a performance.  In some cases, sitting in front of the TV eating potato chips is considered a bad performance depending on who you are.

Some people have a better performance rating than others.  They have conditioned themselves to perform at a high level in everything they do.  It wasn’t easy to get to this point but now that they’re at that level it looks easy to everyone else.

What we are really talking about here is human performance.  It encompasses both physical performance and mental performance.  It also includes spiritual performance which should not be taken lightly.  The overall combination of each of these makes up human performance.

Physical performance means how well we use our bodies.  Whether that is for a physical event such as a sport or during a business presentation.  Our body communicates what we are thinking to others even when we don’t realize it.  In some events our physical performance can have a huge impact on our overall performance.

Mental performance is how well we use our brains.  This includes thinking, memory functions, perception, learning, language, etc.  Our world today relies heavily on mental performance.  Those who excel here typically have a better life.

Spiritual performance is often overlooked.  There is a connotation around spirituality that it’s a bit hokey.  In reality, we don’t do much of anything if our spirit is asleep.  This is where we get our energy from.  Our bodies and minds would be useless without our spirit.

Now that you understand a bit more of what human performance is, imagine applying these things to your everyday life.  If everyday you were able to give your best performance in whatever it is you are doing, then it would be safe to say you’d have an extraordinary life.  Yet, many of us never do this.  Every once in awhile we’ll choose to do our best at an activity but we don’t sustain it.  We think that by doing our best at one thing that we can slack off on everything else.  This is sad.  This is reality.

Our lives are created by what we do in each moment.  We need to focus more on our performances.  Start small.  First work on your physical performance.  Having a high performance body makes your life easier.  Once you’ve figured that out then move on to your mental performance.  Once that is going well, then you can incorporate your spiritual performance.  Of course you can work on all 3 at the same time, but I encourage you to start small.  The smaller the better.  It’s much easier to make habits out of baby steps.

The more you know about how human performance can help you in everything you do the easier your life becomes.  Once you understand that everything we do is a performance, it’s easier to put on the best show you can everyday of your life.  I’m not advocating that you pretend to be someone you’re not.  What I am saying is to give the best performance of who you are every moment of your life.

What will your performance be today?  Will you give your best performance every moment whether you are alone or with others?  How different will your life become if you are able to make this into a daily habit?

There’s only one way to find out.  Start now.
